About Hawaii - "The Healing Islands"

When you come to Hawaii, you are nourished by the spirit of Aloha and the power of nature. Hawaiians believe that all living things are connected and, therefore, affect each other. In the same way, an individual’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects are all connected.

In addition to the healing power of the island, the Getaway will introduce a multitude of ancient Hawaiian therapies for relaxation, rejuvenation, pain release, health enhancement and personal growth.

It’s no wonder that people from all over the world visit Hawaii to experience its healing atmosphere.

Ancient Hawaiian Knowledge

A thousand years ago, Hawaiian healers or Kahunas practiced sophisticated mind/body healing techniques and body-centered therapies that became hidden or lost when the Europeans came.  Today, with the Hawaiian cultural revival, a few Hawaiian teachers have begun to share their knowledge again.  We've invited the best of the traditional Hawaiian healers to teach their philosophy and techniques at the Hawaii Health Getaway.

Many of the ancient Hawaiian healing techniques taught at the Hawaii Health Getaway are from the teachings of Hawaiian healer Serge Kahili King, PhD, founder of Aloha International, an organization that has trained thousands of healers all over the world.

In the Hawaiian Huna philosophy, taught by Dr. King, illness is considered to be an effect of resisting stress.  Stress can cause resistance at the physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual level, leading to inhibited energy flow and, ultimately, illness.

The ancient Hawaiian healing arts are all centered on moving energy in the body and letting the natural healing forces take over.  Participants will learn to heal themselves and others with the energy medicine of Aloha.

The Getaway addresses the physical level through the Hawaiian whole foods diet, mind-motivated exercise, massage and relaxation techniques. We will also teach specific, "instant" mind/body exercises to release mental, emotional and spiritual stress.
